The painted wood construction stems from strong influences of colour by Henri Matisse, structure and design by Frank Stella and the paintings by Canada’s well known, The Group of Seven. The beauty of the painted wood construction is its ability to become an interesting and innovative installation, custom built for a desired space.
The painted wood construction has thematic beginnings about Windsurfers, and Splashing Swimmers based on colour, shape and motion very much derived from sports photography.
The design focus within the structural framework of the artwork is meant to capture motion with fragmented irregular wood-cut pieces that come together like a puzzle.
The painted wood construction has also developed into commercial and corporate commemorative collages.
The artwork is created using a variety of thicknesses and types of PINE WOOD.
